So where to start?
Well.... GUESS WHO GOT A PROMOTION????? Yup - you guessed it. Or, if you haven't caught on as yet - that person is me. ME. MMMEEEEE. You are now looking at (or reading to be more accurate) the brand spanking new ONLINE STORE AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER. Fab.
Needless to say - I am super excited. But - and really this is not a negative but it is a but - along with this fabulous role comes a lot of extra, work, effort, time, energy, skill development, training etc etc blah etc. I mean ALOT. Its not a typical 9-5 role.. this is looking to be to an extent more of a 24 hour on call type role.... which MEANS time. And any spare time currently is taken up with you know what. Yep - the blog.
SO - as opposed to scrapping the whole thing completely - I am endeavouring to make it work. So - instead of having posts up each day by lunchtime.. posts will be completed at night, all ready for readership the following day. How does that sound??? Hopefully all good x
So - here goes.
Weekend. Mothers Day. This means its time to hit the farm. It means this:
Cute huh? As previously mentioned, Mother is on a dairy farm. And yes - that calf above does have an oversized earring which states that its name is Gotato. There is also a Fotato, and an Eotato. Perhaps an explanation is required. Each year, each new group of calves has names from a different letter of the alphabet. The first 50 or so are easy, but then getting up around the hundred mark and the names really start to suffer. A while ago - D was the letter of choice. I thought of 'dapple'. BF - who had never heard of this word used to describe a shade of colour before thought I was chucking a d in front of apple for the hell of it - and therefore came up with Dotato (instead of potato - UH yep). Since then, each year there is a more ridiculous calf version of Dotato getting around the farm. Poor calvies. Saturday was spent barning around on the four wheeler rounding up the cows, clomping through manure, mud and paddocks in my vintage American cowboy boots (picked these bad boys up at an opshop in Rochester for a tenner - amazing find) and hand feeding the baby calves (yes - even Gotato). Amazing way to spend the day, plus - thanks to 3G and Telstra - I still get internet reception. Pair of Current Elliot distressed jeans whilst hosing down the dairy? Yes please. Done.
Mothers day started off with a 2 hour trip in the car to Daylesford. Arrived at 11:30 all ready to check out the famous Railway market, and were greeted by a delightful max temp of 8 degrees, and an oh so pleasant misty rain. Oh. I didn't even want to get out of the car. Instead - I suggested brunch to replace lunch and hopefully misty rain would soon vanish. Brunch was held at Cliffys - amazing poached eggs, chorizo, potato and green tomato fry up in front of the fire. Ahhhh. The shop is a grocer cum cafe cum most amazing quirky corner deli slash greengrocer... here:
Brunch over - and *surprise surprise* the sun came out (don't get too excited - it was still absolutely freezing, but at least the horrible misty rain had vanished). We trekked around the market; bought 100% organic peanut butter, a bag full of something called a feijoa which was explained as a cross between a kiwi and a guava, two tubs of figs and one tub of organic strawberries. Here - I think the image accurately displays the amazing weather we were experiencing:
Not sure why all the above pics are so blurry - I think there must have been frost on my lens. The logical explanation.
Next up was the usual Mill Market extravaganza - vintage clothing, accessories, furniture and knick knack overload. Surprisingly enough - we bought nothing (OH apart from a 100% tan leather Country Road top is snapped up on eBay for $40 - worn once. FAB).

Just as I was leaving Daylesford I noticed a sign that said 'Lake Mineral Springs', complete with an image of a pump. Being quite a fan of mineral water I thought I would stop and check it out. Trekking down this dirt path (in my heeled boots, J brands and MJ bag) I found this clearing that must have been a gorgeous picnic spot back in the fifties, but was now rather run down, a bit sad and graffiti covered. In the middle of the clearing were three pumps - like this:
I had bought my Mt Franklin bottle down all ready for the amazingness of this free, too good to be true natural mineral water. The first two pumps didn't work, but the third spouted out water that looked clear enough. I filled up the bottle and trekked back up to the car - where I took a massive swig. And then spat it straight back out - all over the inside of the car. It was the most revolting, rusty, foul-smelling horrible awful bleugh taste I had ever had in my mouth - thought I was going to die instantly of poisoning. Surprisingly - it was actually bubbly like mineral water - underneath the kaakiness; but in no way should any normal person be drinking this. I would bet the woman above would have spat that out in the next two seconds. Guaranteed. Use that on the ad Daylesford.
So that was the weekend. Then this is today's outfit:
So today's outfit includes one of the fabulous jackets in my three coat present extravaganza from mother for my birthday. As I suspected - I managed to get not one, not two but all three of these coats this weekend (Rachel Gilbert leather and Latopic gold sequin will be coming your way soon my dears never fear!). Good to see my wangling skills are still as strong as ever. Its inclusion into today's outfit selection was primarily due to the freezingness of the morning - I actually kept it on for most of the day in the office as well as I just couldn't get warm. So - today's outfit included the amazing cocoon camel coat by Gorman (birthday present from Mum), worn over a charcoal grey maxi card ($79 in store staff discount Seed Femme - love this as it feels like you are wearing a posh dressing gown all day - super snug, cosy and stylish all at the same time), which were worn over a Country Road pearl and black spliced tee. Then the Levi shiny black jeggings and Seed Femme black ankle boots finished off the look. Done.
Ebay quick buys over the weekend (there was a few of them actually...Oh really? Just for something completely different I guess?):
Country Road leather top - $41 eBay
Orange cotton Topshop printed sleeveless shirt - $11.52 eBay
Topshop poly green polka dot top - $20 eBay
Lanphi hot pink silk blazer - $60 eBay
Fab huh? All of the above for like $120 or so.. the leather tee itself was over $250 and that silk blazer is from a label I haven't heard of before but I googled and found that they are an upcoming Australian label that is stocked on the Dreamery. Another one of their jackets is reduced from $950 so I am rightfully assuming this beauty is from a similar price bracket - and how can you go past that colour. Saw the above blazer on their website here - and it looks amazing. SCORE.
So that is about it. OH except for...
THE COMPETITION. OH Don't forget!
SO there has been a few fabulous entries in the 'best purchase ever' competition.. keep em coming ladies. You have to be in it to win it. All the details of the comp are here.. but just to keep you interested here is another lust-worthy shot of the necklace in question:
