Last night was super exciting. And I am being serious. Last night – I IRONED.
So the actual process of ironing is not the exciting part;
in all honesty I think ironing is just as much fun as going and getting a wax. But, just as waxing is a necessity so too is
being up to date with your ironing basket.
This was mine before I started.
But – the thing with ironing is that it’s benefits most
certainly outweigh the physical act of completing the task. YES it is tedious and boring and god who can
be bothered ironing shirts BUT my wardrobe literally doubles after a good bout
of ironing.. it is like I received a whole new bunch of parcels in the mail as
there are items in there that I haven’t seen in weeks. Electric blue Saba cropped pants? Found! Mustard longline Witchery shirt? OH that’s
where you have been hiding. It is simply
amazing. Anyone who knows my wardrobe
can tell when an ironing frenzy has taken place, as all of a sudden my wardrobe
selection is once again interesting and inspired, and there is a definite
spring in my step. Here is my basket
after last night’s mammoth efforts:
Okay so I know it is still rather full (but it is at least
all folded much more neatly than before) but the items in there will not be
getting a look in anytime soon. Remaining
are silk maxi dresses, a linen sundress or two and quite a few items I probably
won’t ever wear again but cannot yet bring myself to get rid of (embroidered
Jen’s Pirate Booty boho shirt I am talking about you!).
Here is the high quality Freedom rack (if further clarification is required on the elements which make up the wardrobe room please see post entitled 'Wardrobe room ATTACKS' - very helpful in deciphering what on earth I am referring to) filled to the brim
with amazingly crease-free items just waiting to be styled and worn:
FAB.
I like to think of myself as the multi-tasking queen – who can
iron and watch the Voice simultaneously.
Needless to say I was horrified with Joel’s terrible decision to send Mathalia
Barnes home (the Voice became the Legs – I shan’t be watching anymore); which
then gave me flashbacks to ANOTHER horrible moment in Australian musical-related
reailty television when Ricki Lee was kicked off Idol (once again I revolted by
not watching the show for a whole two weeks). And, speaking of Miss Coulter – hasn’t she
come a long way from her Idol days. Who doesn’t
love a good makeover, and that girl is looking amazing at the moment. Here are some before and after shots just to
prove my point:

Hot. Plus I was
totally loving her gold sequin blazer that she wore on the show last night –
fashion find alert. I will hunt you down.
Okay – today’s outfit.
Thanks once again to the ironing frenzy – I found this long
lost Witchery mustard draped rayon longline shirt ($35 in store Witchery on
sale) – had been missing from the wardrobe rotation for about three weeks now. LOVE the shape of this baby; it is such an
easy wear in this fabric and the colour is perfect for Autumn. I cinched it in with a Sportsgirl mixed tan
skinny belt ($20 in store Sportsgirl), just to liven things up a bit. The above is worn over some Bettina Liano Ace
black canvas pants ($50 eBay), and then
finished off with the AHmazing $1.67 vintage tan clogs. TA DA. No coat – the weather is a little bit
more on the friendly side today.
No deliveries as yet – but as there are quite a few
outstanding items I presume the postman will be laden with goodies in this
afternoon’s mail drop. OH MR POSTMAN….
