Another disappointment to add to my 15 degree maximum temperature summer day is the recent shortage of sample sales. Its a state-wide catastrophe. Every Wednesday I eagerly check my email for that wonderful weekly newsletter from Missy Confidential (http://www.missyconfidential.com.au), which list for me all the upcoming sample sales in the Melbourne area. My weekend planning would not begin until I had perused this jam-packed flyer from top to bottom, and then any weekend activities were then built around any ‘must attend’ sale. The site allows you to print out the specifics of each sale along with a handy little google map; which (after sneakily printing in full colour) I would then pin prominently on the corkboard above my desk to entice myself with all the wonderful purchases the weekend ahead promises to bring,
Today’s Missy – as like last week – is devoid of all sample sales except once again for the Husk sale. Which is not so much a true sample sale.. it is more a pop-up shop purely to churn through past seasons stock at a discounted price. Not that I am complaining – this style of sale works just fine for me as well (as I'm writing this I have just put a bid in on a gorgeous Maje silk abstract print maxi dress – ooooh fingers crossed!) but having already attended this (it’s definitely worth a look if you are cashed up) I would like something new to get excited about. Alas, the sample sales must all still be kicking back on a beach somewhere – as they are certainly not around in Melbourne this week.
Again, further disappointment – missed out on the Maje maxi dress. Went for $157.55. Bummer. It was beautiful.
Can this day get any worse??

PS OH YES day can get worse. Just received a helpful little email notification from an unhappy buyer on eBay – seems they are unhappy with their purchase. There goes its $150 back in a refund. Funnily enough.. this was almost the exact price I almost won the Maje dress for... I guess it was a stroke of luck I didn’t win the dress after all. Perhaps things are looking up.
