find it for me - Kate Middleton (and Prince Harry!)'s gumboots

So - a little bit of an unusual 'find it for me request' came through.... gumboots in the middle of summer. Wait. On second thoughts - I live in a place where it was 8 degrees in the middle of January. What am I thinking? Gumboots would have been totally appropriate footwear.

BUT these were not just any ordinary gumboots, nosiree - these were Royal gumboots. As seen on Miss Middleton herself, and, funnily enough, matching along next to the Duchess was none other than Prince Harry (looking as cute as ever I just have to say). First thought - Hunters.  The people's wellington of choice. Alas - upon closer inspection of the front logo - this was not a Hunter product at all. Oh.

Turns out these babies are not just rubber boots.  In fact, the are handcrafted in France, leather-lined, with a woollen overlay.  They feature an invisible side zip for easy dressing (what? no falling over whilst trying to tug out your foot without getting mud everywhere?) and an extra thick durable sole. These are not bashing about in the garden on the weekend footwear - these exquisitely made boots are the epitome of wet weather style.  Made by Le Chemeau, these are the 'Chasseur' boot in olive green. Fancy.

Maybe its time to upgrade my Hunters? If they are good enough for Kate...
