So.. received a package today. WOOP. Opening the bag.. hang on, whatever did I buy from Officeworks??
Turns out nothing. Deception strikes again. Personally - I would have not bothered with wrapping rather than using any random bag I found lying around the house - but hey. Each to their own. Instead.. it was the long awaited delivery of the Frye 'Harlow' ankle boots. FAB. That is strange... they look a little on the large side. Must just be a trick of the eye..
Ah NO. Check out that gap. That is NOT what I had in mind.. they are meant to be a standard size 9. Closer inspection of the size tag states 10M. 10??? WTF. Immediately I was enraged. How dare random eBay seller incorrectly list something as a 9 when it is clearly printed in black font inside the boot for all to see - 10M. Jumped on eBay ready to send a super polite email about my dilemma, and thought I would just stop past the listing to confirm that it was indeed listed as a 9. Uh - no. There it is.. right on the screen. Size 10. Oh crap. Obviously I totally missed this. In the throes of excitement at the prospect of owning these magnificent boots I forgot to check what size they were. WAH. Now I have a fab pair of boots that even with an inch of extra padding are a long way from fitting. Damn.
Back to eBay land they go... anyone fit a size 10? Anyone? Offers are OPEN!
Today's outfit. I am finding it quite difficult to dress for this weather. Days are amazing; sunny, blue skies and not a breath of wind. Gorgeous.. BUT does tend to mean freezing nights and super frosty mornings. It is a huge struggle each morning to throw off the doona and greet the day (OH morning runs on Cottesloe beach - how I miss you); eating breakfast in my zero degree kitchen does not help matters so I put my dressing gown back on over my outfit for added warmth. I have the heater cranked to 30 degrees in the car and then by the time I get to work and in the air-conditioned comfort I am boiling, and the layers have to come off. Very frustrating.
Me - today:
Yes - I am rocking a plait today. Hair inspiration - long gone!
So today's outfit is probably more suited to a 'casual friday' rather than a normal everyday smart business casual Friday.. but I felt like busting away from the dark pants and until I take up my caramel Bettina Liano skinny pants these are my next best option (OH apart from red pants. Didn't feel like red pants today.. is it over? Will need to do some Internet research to determine the end of this trend). And no - they are not JEANS per se. They are CANVAS PANTS - and therefore totally acceptable for work. At least that is what I am claiming. So - Kate Moss for Topshop paisley print gypsyish jacket ($60 eBay. Love this guy.. it is quilted so is VERY warm; which is why it got moved to the back of the chair after ten minutes of arriving at work where I am sure it will remain until the end of the day but is still a key piece of the outfit, and added bonus makes my chair look super nice too), worn over a tomato red Sussan rayon tee ($35 in store on sale Sussan. Think he may have shrunk in the wash just slightly.. and it used to be oversized and now not so much. FAB colour though - super bright and pumping), worn over bone coloured J Brand stretch canvas pants ($10 eBay. Could there be a better bargain going round? Bone is a fantastic alternative to white.. doesn't show dirt anywhere near as easily and is a great nude base for adding pops of colour. Plus - being J Brand they are super comfy. Onto my fourth pair of J Brand jeans.. love em). Shoes-wise, had the outfit matched in with the vintage $1.67 tan wedges, but then felt that the CR nude espadrilles were a better fit - colour blends in with the pants and elongates the leg. Switcheroo).
Weekend is looking to be an amazing 24 and 26 degrees respectively; bf wants me to do gardening but HELLO perfect outdoor shopping weather. Going to head on over to Daylesford for a spot of vintage shopping tomorrow; and then maybe finished off with a little Camberwell market madness on Sunday morning.
BRING ON THE WEEKEND.
